According to the fire
department of New York, in the city’s historic Little Italy neighborhood a
careless smoking caused a weekend fire that hurt 13 people.
On Saturday, the fire
spread through Angelo's of Mulberry Street and apartments above it.
FDNY officials said that
11 people suffered minor injuries while 2 of them were seriously injured.
They tweeted that the
fire was sparked by careless discard of smoking material and was accidental.
City Buildings
Department inspectors were called in to assess damage to the structure.
