Chicago Firefighter Collapsed on Ground Inside Building Fire


In Chicago, on Saturday Morning, a firefighter collapsed at the scene of the fire. He was found in critical but stable condition.

The crews were called on the Southwest Side of the extra-alarm fire in a neighborhood reported by Chicago Sun-Times. The firefighter, who was on the second floor, was complaining of being short of breath. He was found on the ground inside the building.

Mayday alert was requested earlier at a house fire in North Lawndale after a firefighter went down on the 2nd floor while fighting the blaze.

Firefighter Close Calls reported, that firefighter received a small laceration on his head while being removed. He was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition. 

A second firefighter, who was also injured in the fire, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
