Firefighter Les Morgan and his son, Assistant Chief Kyle Morgan, were out on a call when Les went into sudden cardiac arrest reported PA Homepage.

Les said - “no warning, no pain, and no shortness of breathing” – I just went out.

Kyle yelled at his colleagues to bring in an AED and jumped into action to save his dad.

Kyle said - "With his situation where his heart was in v-fib without the use of an AED, there was no coming back." He was only down for less than two minutes.

"I was very lucky that it happened where it did. That I fell at the right spot or I wouldn't be standing here," Les said.

According to Doctors, the quick action to save Les saved his life and reduced heart damage after the incident.

Kyle used the incident to remind the public to be aware of AEDs in public places. He added, "When you walk into an establishment, you should look around and say, 'OK there's the AED, there's the fire extinguisher.' Something happens, I know where it's at, it can save my dad's life, my mom's life, and it can save my life."
