Industrial area of Douglas was evacuated after propane gas leakage
On Tuesday, February 27th, according to the authorities, one
of two vehicles involved in a wreck has crashed into a large propane tank that
is now leaking gas because of which, an industrial area of Douglas in
southeastern Arizona is being evacuated.
The Cochise County Sheriff's Office said that firedepartments and Douglas police responded to the incident while numerous law
enforcement officers from several agencies sealed off the area and conducted
the evacuation.
The office said, people inside the crashed vehicle are
injured and the evacuation area also includes a Wal-Mart store in the vicinity.
Police Sgt. Jose Duarte says there was no fire or explosion,
that the propane tank at a gas-distribution business wasn't full when it was
struck and firefighters were allowing some of the gas in the tank to dissipate
before they try to clamp off the damaged pipe.
Two people in the vehicle have minor injuries.
