Orange-Brevard line contained with Brush fire


On Sunday, the Poinsett fire started and burned more than 400 acres, was fully contained Monday evening reported by the Orland Florida Forest Service.

Till Monday afternoon, fire engulfed 425 acres which were burned through brush in the area of State Road 520 near the Orange-Brevard county line.

The blaze ignited Sunday afternoon when an airboat caught fire in the rural area near the Brevard-Orange County line.

The incident is under investigation. The crew is monitoring area for flare-ups.

According to Sean Gallagher, spokesman for the Orlando District Field Unit of the Forest Service, No buildings were threatened by the fire.

Flames were reported on Sunday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. near State Road 520, encapsulating 25 to 75 acres in the first two hours of being spotted. 

No smoke or open flames in the area were reported by the witness Monday morning, said Forest Service Officials.
