After struggling to access the house fire, Riverside firefighters defeated it



Riverside firefighters knocked-down a fire after some difficulty reaching it. The fire majorly destroyed the interior of a single-family home and left an adult resident and a dog dislodged, the Fire Department said Wednesday, March 28.
The fire was reported in the area of Jones and Arlington avenues just before 12:15 p.m. Tuesday. But while firefighters saw smoke, they had trouble reaching the source. It was really difficult figuring out the fire source. Fire crews discovered the blaze was actually on in the 6800 block of nearby Gaylord Street.
There were still problems getting to the fire, though, since the structure was set back off the street about 300 feet. That meant crews had to use ladders to scale a fence to get to the burning structure while a gate was forced open.
Firefighters attacked the blaze in the single-story home while searching for any trapped victims. There were no civilian injuries; one firefighter had a minor eye injury. The fire was knocked down in about 15 minutes with the assistance of Fire Fighting Equipment.
The adult, who lost his shelter, was referred to the Red Cross for housing. He was additionally issued with a cash card. Despite, the man was provided with the necessary aid, it still would be a tough phase to bear, as the fire brutally destructed the entire assets of the house.
