Firefighter rescued California Girl

According to the OCFA, a ten year little girl named Charlotte Chapin, who was on a father-and-daughter campout at Newport Dunes, fell headfirst into the pit with her hands and head inside the steel drum and her waist touching the side.

An off-duty California Fire Authority firefighter too was present at the YMCA-sponsored camping trip with his daughter.
He helped the victim by grabbing a bottle of water, wrapping the girl up in a towel and warned the other girl’s father not to put ice on the burns. After all that’s the significance of a strong Fire Fighting System that trains its employees for emergencies.

The girl, who was treated by Newport Beach fire crews and paramedics and taken to a burn center, suffered first and second degree burns to her hip, ribs and wrist and singed her hair, Concialdi said. She is in a much better state now and recovering fast.
