Large North Kansas City Fire Now Under Control
Fire crews with the help of Emergency and Safety Products, managed to
control a damaging fire that longed for five hours at a North Kansas City
building. The fire broke out before 1 p.m. Tuesday at a building near the
intersection of Armour Road and Swift Street. Fire officials on scene said that
they believe the fire started on the deck of a roof.
It was all because of witness statements and videos that Investigators
were able to pinpoint the cause so quickly. A smoking porch that located on the
back of the south side of the building was where officers concluded that the
fire began.
The fire traveled from the smoking porch, up a wall and
into the attic.
The fire spread so rapidly that it was hard to put out as wind
drove the flames through the structure and into some void areas in the attic.
Residents who lost everything destroyed by Tuesday's fire in
North Kansas City are looking to move forward which will really be a tough
challenge for the fire victims.
Public Information Officer for the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco and Firearms Kansas City office said. "It’s an accidental
fire and so there was no intent by anyone to cause a fire.
Unfortunately it happened and I don’t know that with specificity we could
indicate the exact person.”
