In a recent news release, La Plata County spokeswoman Megan Graham informed about the 95% containment of the 358 fire that began Friday afternoon in Texas Creek area.
After progress overnight on the blaze, an instruction for pre-deportation for homes along Florida Road between Helen’s Store and County Road 502 was lifted Sunday morning.
As for the cause of a fire, it was reported around 3:45 p.m. Friday on private property that started by someone shooting a gun at a private gun range.
With the help of safety products and the favorable direction of winds, firefighters made it possible to mark good hold over the situation. There was 80 % containment of fire on Saturday evening which reached to a level of 95 % later indicating a significant headway.
