A fire at recycling plant was extinguished by over 100 firefighters


A fire that erupted at Maryland recycling plant was extinguished by more than 100 firefighters with the help of their fire fighting equipment. The plant was jammed with piles of cardboard and other similar kinds of highly flammable materials.

It was reported by local news authorities that the two-alarm fire at the Georgetown Paper Stock recycling plant in Rockville was smothered Saturday. By mid-afternoon, the roads around the plant were reopened.

The fire started Friday when black harsh smoke across the area was noticed. Battling all through the night, approx 125 firefighters were involved in dousing the fire.

It was intimated by news outlets that more than 1 million gallons of water were needed to extinguish the flames. No injury has been reported yet.
