Airbus damaged by Fire from Frankfurt Airport Truck

The Associated Press described some “minor” injuries to ten airport workers, including ground crew and Firefighters with their Emergency and Safety Products. They went through smoke inhalation which resultantly brought the uneasiness.

As intimated by Lufthansa, what caused the fire was not clear. Prominent burn marks around the flight deck and front of the A340 were displayed in the images. The A340 was painted in a special Star Alliance livery.

“The aircraft is heavily damaged,” Lufthansa said in a statement to Reuters, adding to the news agency that the aircraft had been scheduled to used Monday for Lufthansa Flight 426 from Frankfurt to Philadelphia.

The fire sent black smoke swirling into the air but due to a good job of the emergency responders, airport traffic remained unaffected in spite of the incident.
