Eastern New Orleans recorded a massive marsh fire

A large marsh fire in eastern New Orleans lit up the sky in the marsh off Highway 11 between Chef Menteur Highway and Interstate 10.
The New Orleans Fire Department responded to a blaze that broke out in the marsh in the eastern part of the city.
It was reported that the fire started Thursday at the Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service spokesman Pon Dixon says it likely started as a result of lightning from a dry thunderstorm that passed through the area.
Smoke and flames on the edge of the fire could be seen on the spot which brought the emergency responders along with their fire fighting equipment. There have been no traces of injuries yet.
