Oklahoma gas line ruptured and exploded

Emergency response crews struggled to shut off a ruptured natural gas line and thereafter extinguish a resulting fire with the help of their Quality Safety Equipment.

While releasing injured people from Oklahoma, a firefighter along with five people got injured in the explosion after a natural gas pipeline rupture in Tulsa. His condition was stable on Friday.

Police informed that the rupture eventuated when a tractor struck the line around 1:30 p.m. Thursday on the city's west side. Officials say gas was shut off and the fire extinguished at about 4:30 p.m., without endangering any home.

Ballard said the line was repaired late Thursday night and service has been restored.
