Woman referred to Honolulu after lava injury
It was
when the molten rocks crashed down the roof of her tour boat off Hawaii that
the woman faced serious injuries. For further treatment, she has been referred
to Honolulu.
The woman
was transferred in serious condition with a broken thigh, as per the Medical
Center spokeswoman Elena Cabatu. The incident brought notice to the fact that a
robust training for such
disasters still needs to be reinforced. Officials informed that the explosion sent
lava flying through the roof of a tour boat off the Big Island, injuring at
least 23 people.
The people were aboard a tour boat that takes visitors to see
lava from an erupting volcano plunge into the ocean. The others were treated
for superficial injuries.
