Firefighter sacrificed his life in Jackson County House Fire




A fire broke out just after 5:30 p.m. at a home at the intersection of county roads 206 and 160 about a mile north of Altus.

The Blair Fire Department chief and Jackson County sheriff's department are reporting that a Friendship firefighter was killed in a house fire Friday evening battling with the extintor; firefighters arrived to find the home engulfed in flames.

The Blair Fire Department's Facebook page reported the death of one firefighter with the Friendship fire department.
