Firefighters Working at Ranch Fire in Northern California

According to the state's Web site, the Ranch Fire has increased acreage because of successful firing operations in the northeastern areas of the fire. Crews continue to reinforce containment lines and mop up throughout the north and northeastern portions of the fire area. There are mandatory evacuations in effect for Glenn and Colusa counties.
Numerous firefighting air tankers from throughout the Western United States are flying fire suppression missions as conditions allow, with more than 3,000 firefighters operating at the scene.
