Fire breaks out in Manadala hotel in Berlin



Fire breaks out in German capital's central PotsdamerPlatzMandala hotel was controlled at the time and no injuries were reported according to the Berlin’s official.

The hotel was evacuated as soon as the fire broke out. It was declared by the fire department that the fire was in control within two hours.

Fire department spokesman Andreas Ohlwein told The Associated Press that the fire started in a sauna on an upper floor of the 11-story building and spread rapidly to the roof level.

Around 50 firefighters battled the blaze from outside and inside the building, which included both apartments and the hotel rooms.

According to Ohlwein, it’s too early to speculate about the cause of the fire.
